Born and raised in Quarryville, PA, Brian Smith founded BriBiz after travelling as a founding member of FFH – first independently, then as a nationally signed act. Brian handled the band’s finances while they sold over 2 million albums and performed thousands of shows across the country. But he couldn’t help but notice a disconnect between the priorities of Artists on the Road and their Business Managers back home. As FFH retired, Brian settled in Franklin, TN and began to work towards helping other artists gain control over their business affairs in a number of different roles. Finally, in 2006 he started his own business management firm which would later become BriBiz.
Brian loves working with creatives and cites helping them make sense of their money as his favourite part of his job. He says, “I set out to help artists understand their money, I didn’t want to just pass them a spreadsheet and let them figure it out on their own. I wanted to walk alongside them and make sure they knew how their business was working, and to help them navigate and thrive in the industry.”
Brian has been married to Allyson for 20 years and they have 5 kids – Madison, Ellie, Rylee and Brinnley, and Miles. Last, but certainly not least, Brian is obsessed with Batman, and can frequently be found adding to his horde of Batman collectables.
